[Subscription billing] Pricing method for Recurring contract billing in Microsoft Dynamics 365 finance and operations: Part-2

In this blog, I will try to explain about pricing method for recurring contract billing (You can visit Part-1 here). Pricing method helps us to define pricing on billing schedule base on different methods. We have four methods available as of now:

  1. Standard

If we select standard on billing schedule line, then unit price is fetched based on price defined on product master or related trade agreement. We cannot edit the price on schedule line, its non-editable.

  1. Flat

If we select pricing method flat on billing schedule line, then we can manually add the price for the line. It allows us to add price information manually.

  1. Tier

If we select pricing method tier on billing schedule line, then price is fetched based on trade agreement where slab pricing is defined.

  1. Flat tier

If we select pricing method flat tier on billing schedule line, then price is fetched based on trade agreement where flat tier pricing is defined. Flat tier pricing means we define flat price for the range of QTY.

One more option which we have is “Advance pricing options”, Advance pricing options helps us to define free quantities for the line based on which pricing option gets changed at lien level.

That’s it for this blog, hope it helps you to understand the “Pricing method” available on billing schedule line. Next blog, I will be talking about “Item type” on billing schedule line.

Thank you !!! Keep reading and sharing !!!

  1. Can you invoice odd periods in subscription billing in D365FO?
My client wants to update a monthly invoice per eg 21-MM-YYY 20-MM-YYY
I cannot find any parameters letting it run on a monthly frequency with a none fiscal monthly period. Even with the exactly odd start and end date it generate an invoice with two lines
    first line 21-MM-YYYY – 31-MM-YYY
    second line 01-MM-YYYY – 20-MM-YYY
